How much does air conditioning installation cost in Spain?

Viva Home Air · Updated October 2026

In Spain, a wall-mounted split air conditioning unit costs from around €850 installed — including the unit, brackets, piping, electrics and commissioning. Multi-split systems for several rooms start near €2,200, and ducted (conductos) systems from about €3,500. The final price depends on the unit chosen, pipe-run length and property access.

What's included in a Spanish AC installation price

A proper quote is all-inclusive: the indoor and outdoor units, mounting brackets, copper piping (up to a standard run), electrical cabling, drain pipe, wall penetrations, a full vacuum and pressure test, refrigerant charge, commissioning and clean-up. Only extra-long pipe runs or complex routing add cost — and a good installer details those upfront, before you commit.

What changes the price

The biggest factor is how many rooms you cool: a single wall split is cheapest, multi-split (one outdoor unit feeding several indoor units) costs more, and ducted systems hidden in the ceiling cost the most. Brand matters too — Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric sit at the premium end. Pipe-run length, wall type, access/scaffolding, and whether it's a new build (pipes pre-routed before walls close) or a retrofit all move the price.

Typical Costa Blanca prices (2026)

Wall-mounted split: from €850. Multi-split (2–5 rooms): from €2,200. Ducted / conductos: from €3,500. Ceiling cassette (pre-installation): from €750. These are supply-and-install prices including commissioning; always get an itemised written quote so there are no surprises.

Frequently asked questions

Is installation included in the AC unit price?

With reputable Costa Blanca installers, yes — the quote covers the unit, fitting, materials and commissioning. Only extra-long pipe runs or difficult access add cost, and that should be detailed upfront.

How long does an AC installation take?

A standard single-split install takes 4–6 hours. Multi-split systems serving several rooms usually take a full working day, including pressure testing and commissioning.

Are cheap AC units worth it on the coast?

Usually not. Salt air on the Costa Blanca corrodes budget outdoor units faster. A mid-range Daikin or Mitsubishi typically lasts longer and costs less over its lifetime.
